Ravi's secretary arrested...

Former Chairperson of the National Lotteries Board, Shyamila Perera, has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.
She has been arrested in connection with an allegation that three employees recruited by the National Lotteries Board between 2015 and 2019 were assigned to the staff of former Minister Ravi Karunanayake instead of being deployed to the service of the state institution.
Sharmila Perera also served as a secretary to a sitting minister, Lalith Athulmudali, and after Lalith Athulmudali was assassinated, Sharmila Perera served as the secretary to former Minister Ravi Karunanayake. In addition, she is also the General Secretary of the New Democratic Party.
Currently, the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption is conducting further investigations into this matter, and further legal action is scheduled to be taken.
