Angoda Police Chief 'Angoda' is a patient who should be sent?

Drug trafficking must be eradicated from this country. There is no question about the government's aspiration. The intervention of the police is also a necessary duty for this. There are reports that the plan to put an end to the drug trade has been turned into a project to get points from the government for the police bosses.
There, the duty of drug raids has been transformed into a target coverage. At present, what is being reported from around the country is the uncontrolled and inhuman activities being carried out by some police officers to cover the target.
We suspect that some police officers are exerting illegal pressure on citizens with the intention of discrediting the government. The matter has gone so far that it has become a hobby for the police to kidnap citizens who do not possess a national identity card and implicate them in drug cases.
By now, a number of innocent citizens have fallen into trouble due to the police's negligence. Citizens have no political authority to express or listen to their grievances. The National People's Forces government, due to its pure political virginity, does not interfere in the duties of the police.
If the police are allowed to do such a dogged job, there is a possibility that Comrade President Anura will also be charged with fifty-four crimes and sent to Welikada in the future. The Minister of Public Security has no idea about the police underworld that is being created across the country.
Currently, Comrade President Anura is holding public meetings around the country. At each of those public meetings, Comrade President Anura emphasizes that the NPA government is there to listen to the grievances of the citizens.
However, his emphasis has not been made relevant to ministers and MPs.
They do not even listen to the citizens, let alone answer a phone call.
That is where the gap between the NPA government and the citizens lies.
There is no point in writing about the cowardice of the Minister of Public Security who made a brutal scoundrel who killed JVP comrades in large numbers in 1989 his advisor. If these people had any shame or decency, they would not have been cozying up to a scoundrel who brutally killed JVP comrades. They think that the ministry is something that will always be there. But it would be good if they remembered that at some point the citizens will have an opportunity to question these people.
Meanwhile, there have been reports about a policewoman who is manipulating the powers of the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Security. This person is a valuable policewoman who was imported to the ministry from Badulla.
That woman is on duty, even giving reports to senior police officers, and those who know know where the end of the story lies. We have been informed that if the personal file of this policewoman were dug up and read, she would not be a person who should be kept in the Ministry of Public Security, let alone in the police.
Let us end our preface here.
We wrote this preface after coming across a heartbreaking letter written by Wangisa Sumanasekara on Facebook. The revelation, which was titled as a request to all those who have a motivation against injustice, is as follows.
"......For the past two weeks, I have been struggling to bring justice to a man who has been subjected to a terrible injustice. This injustice has been done to a friend of the sister of a political activist I know. This person with a mental disorder has been receiving treatment as a resident at Angoda Hospital and is still on medication.
About two weeks ago, this person was attacked by people in the area for looking at a woman. According to the sister who spoke to me, this was a misunderstanding of something that happened due to his mental disorder. After that, the police who arrived there also attacked this person. Finally, the police have falsely accused this person of having about 1500 milligrams of ice and implicated him in a case. But where is he?
The police have refused to provide any information to the mother or sister of the person, such as in which court the case will be filed.
I have been trying to contact each and every person in the government for weeks and finally today I sent this message to the OIC He was able to inform. He informed that the man is in the Magazine Prison and that the relevant case is in the Maligakanda Court. At least now the man's family has the opportunity to see him.
Political power had to be used to get the police to do this simple thing. This is how the police treat the lowest rung of the extremely helpless society in our country. How terrible is the injustice that is being done to people who cannot even get this kind of political intervention?
Now this OIC has said that the 'ice' he had has been sent to the analyst and that he can be taken out in about a month. Our police have appointed a mentally ill man who is unable to even do a normal job as a drug dealer.
In the current situation, there is nothing more that the government can do for this. All that needs to be done now is to conduct a fair investigation against the police officers who committed this terrible injustice and get compensation for the man. There is no other option but to raise a public voice for this and organize it.
I have already spoken to several people in this regard has been done. Although attempts were made to inform Comrade Tharindu Uduwaragedara about this, it was learned that he was ill. This fight can now be carried forward as a public fight. If we can stop this, we will be able to provide relief to many people who are suffering from such injustices.
(End of quote)
There is no mention of the police who committed that inhuman dog act in Wangeesa’s letter. We have investigated it. This inhuman and illegal act was committed by the OIC of Angoda Police. It cannot be defined as a duty. It may have been recorded as a duty in the police books.
It is impossible to say anything wrong, the act of the OIC of Angoda Police is suitable for Angoda itself. We cannot ignore the coercion that this OIC of Angoda committed against an innocent citizen by writing it like that.
The IGP is issuing circulars minute by minute.
According to the instructions contained in them, it is impossible to cause harm to a mile of citizens. But it is a matter of regret that the police do not limit those orders to a copper plate. The genetic arias that the police have towards citizens emerge from somewhere.
This mess has mostly happened ecause the Senior DIGs have gone to do the duties of the OICs.
In the past, the OICs used to operate freely within their jurisdiction, but recently that administrative structure has been turned upside down and transformed into a distortion. The OICs have become mere trifles. It is reported that the number of people retiring and quitting the police service has increased due to this distortion.
That is also the case.
However, we also request those responsible to look into the blatant misconduct of the Angoda Police OIC.
