A camp to resolve the problems of war heroes and their next of kin

The 10th Army Welfare Camp and Medical Clinic, which is operating to resolve the problems of deceased, retired and serving war heroes and their next of kin, was held today at the 12th Infantry Division Headquarters in Hambantota under the patronage of Lieutenant General Nilantha Premaranna, Commander of the Army.

The medical clinic comprised of a number of services including medical check-ups, prosthetic leg maintenance services, dermatology and dental clinics, an eye clinic and a nutrition counseling clinic.

During the programme, wheelchairs, crutches and other essential medical equipment were distributed to the disabled war heroes to improve their mobility and quality of life.

Members of the War Heroes Service Authority, as well as representatives from the Pay and Records Directorate, Personnel Management Directorate, Legal Services, Human Rights and Humanitarian Law Directorate, Welfare Directorate, War Services and Rehabilitation Directorate and Army Medical Services Directorate participated in this program to resolve the issues of deceased, retired and serving War Heroes and their immediate relatives.

The Commander of the Army stated that since the currently serving and retired War Heroes and their family members, as well as the family members of the War Heroes who died in the war, as well as all the injured and their family members, numbering more than four hundred thousand, they are all considered members of the Army family and the Army will take all necessary steps to provide them with all the necessary welfare services.

The Army Commander also reminded that the Ranaviru Seva Authority and the Army Seva Vanitha Unit will provide constant support for this. The Army Commander also said that the Army has the courage and strength to carry out all the welfare activities required by them.
