Caroline Levitt to step down as White House press secretary

President Donald Trump said today (12) that White House press secretary Caroline Levitt will step down from her position by the end of August.

The 28-year-old Levitt is stepping down to spend more time with her beautiful young children and family, and Donald Trump said he fully understands and respects her decision.

White House press secretary Caroline Levitt is a young political communications officer who has risen very quickly in American politics. Her history is significant because she was involved with Donald Trump's political campaign from the very beginning.

Caroline Levitt was born on August 24, 1997, in Atkinson, New Hampshire, USA.

She studied at Saint Anselm College and graduated in 2019.  Her political and media career began in college. As a 2019 graduate, she entered the national political arena at a very young age. 

The most important turning point in her career was joining the White House during the Trump administration from 2017–2021. She first worked as a White House intern and later rose to the position of assistant press secretary. 

So Caroline Levitt was not a complete newcomer to the Trump administration. Her political career was built on the Republican political network around Trump. 

Another important moment in Levitt's career was running as the Republican candidate for New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District in 2022. She won the Republican primary but lost to Democratic candidate Chris Pappas in the final general election. 

Her political career did not end after that, and she became closer to Trump's political campaign.  Levitt served as the National Press Secretary for the Trump campaign in the 2024 presidential election.

This gave her a large political platform at the national level. Her main tasks were to strongly advocate for Trump in the media, criticize the Biden administration, and present Trump's political messages to the media. 

On January 20, 2025, after Donald Trump was elected President for a second term, Caroline Levitt was appointed as the White House Press Secretary. She officially assumed the position on January 20, 2025. 

Caroline Levitt was only 27 years old when she took the position. Accordingly, she became the youngest White House Press Secretary in American history. 

As of August 2026, she still holds that position, and regularly appears at official White House press briefings. 

 Her specialty is using a media communication style that is politically tough, direct, and protective of Trump's policies, rather than the language of a traditional public servant.

Therefore, her role is not limited to the position of "press secretary", but has become the main face of presenting the political message of the Trump administration to the public.

However, according to Donald Trump, White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt is scheduled to leave that position by the end of August.
